Some background

I did High school and after that middle and higher level applied electronics. Worked for about ten years in the electronic branch started as technician and ended as manager. While being manager without any technical work anymore i picked up the programming again where it left when started high school. Until then i had experience in Assembler and Basic and started with html quickly followed by Perl. After working as employee in different companies for about 5 years i started my own business. First in the evening hours but from 2007 full time. The whole ICT part is self-taught on the job as manager and later as developer. After the html was known a programming language was required. The choice was Perl as people said that was very difficult too learn. I still love that language. Nice cryptic code and complex regular expressions. In the same period (around 1998) i had have it with Windows and played a bit with FreeBSD. But not much info and software available and Linux was just born. After a few weeks i switched to that. Choice felt on Slackware. Again because people said that was a terrible hard distribution. So i downloaded about eight floppies... Nowadays i do not choose for the most complex way anymore. Only the most reliable way is what counts. Complexity is more a downside as others need to be able to maintain the code also. Simplicity is the keyword. Of course a control structure can be written in just one line of code. But could be pretty hard to see in a glance how it works. And since we do not want to have bugs in the future because another maintainer misunderstands the code it is better to use a few more lines. Since programming become a job instead of a hobby i needed something else for a hobby. Found that in cars. Nothing more peaceful then pulling an engine or gearbox apart. So when it is relaxation time i really like to be in my shed working on one of my cars. They are really old and still going. Big fan of Jetcars where i buy one from time to time and Venyard where i get the stuff to keep them rolling.
